Applying Screencasting Tools for Creating OAE Tutorial

Abstract
The paper presents the most common used modern screencasting tools and its roles and impact on teaching process. Using tutorials in teaching offer significant possibilities for creating interactive software demonstrations for various software applications. In order to point out the benefits and easiness of creating tutorials, we choose to build up tutorial for using Oracle Application Express application. Tutorial is named CASTOR (Camtasia Studio Tutorial for ORacle). CASTOR tutorial is aimed to provide students of the Technical faculty in Čačak with assistance to faster gather necessary knowledge and skills in creation of OAE applications. Camtasia Studio tool is chosen for developing tutorial. Castor tutorial is envisaged that by way of building a sample database, present users the process of creating application in Oracle Application Express. Besides, a process of recording and editing tutorial, as well as, its publication on Web is described. A performance analyzes of mentioned tool and CASTOR tutorial itself, is presented in detail. Finally, possibilities of CASTOR tutorial usage and further improvement are considered.
