Abstract
The paper demonstrates a new integrated approach to risk management in software projects. We present a way, how all processes of risk management described in PMBOK standard can proceed. The standard describes all processes and related issues of project management domain in a detailed way. In the PMBOK standard, the risk management is divided into six sub-processes (phases). They are: Risk management Planning, Risk Identification, Qualitative Risk Analysis, Quantitative Risk Analysis, Risk Response Planning, and Risk Monitoring and Control. Particular situation and overall conditions in an organization influence selection of some of vast number of methods, methodologies, techniques, and tools. In projects, there we recognize both general methods (e.g. SWOT Analysis, Ishikawa Diagram), and more sophisticated methods (e.g. FMEA/FTA, HAZOP, SPC etc.). We present solution of a complex procedure of risk management process application. The aim was to eliminate or reduce risks and their consequences in a project. Moreover, a new risk classification of software development project and results obtained in a solved case study are presented too.
