An Experimental Approach of TCP Behavior in WLAN Networks

Abstract
The aim of this article is to present a study of TCP behavior over a wireless 802.11 link. The observations were made based on a series of measurements related to individual TCP connection, considering congestion windows, round trip time and retransmission time-out. Due to its growing popularity, more and more people are using their laptops and pocketPC to access the Internet via this technology. We investigate the behavior of TCP implementation concerning Linux kernel 2.6 and verify its conformance with the standards.
