The choice of developing object-relational databases first appeared in the Oracle 8 release , by using PL/SQL language, which permits the definition of objects. The present paper proposes an implementation pattern of object-relational database, emphasizing that persisting objects are relationally stored on disc, and the object processing is performed in the main memory, where we can refer to the structural and behavioural properties of objects.
